Poly(vinylidene fluoride-co-hexafluoropropylene) (PVdF-HFP)-ionic liquid gel electrolytes have been synthesized using ionic liquid 2,3-dimethyl-1-hexylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide (DMHxImTFSI) and propylene carbonate. Ionic conductivity of the ionic liquid is 2.47 x 10-3 Scm at 30oC and polymer gel electrolytes also possess conductivity of the same order. The dependence of ionic conductivity on the concentration of ionic liquid, polymer and temperature has been studied. TGA/DSC ( studies shows that the polymer gel electrolyte containing ionic liquid is thermally stable upto 100oC.
